Gypsum Board Thickness
♦ Ordinary Paper-Faced Gypsum Board: A common, economical type of gypsum board, suitable for applications without special requirements, where the continuous relative humidity does not exceed 65%. 9.5mm thick ordinary paper-faced gypsum board is prone to deformation under humid conditions due to its thinness and low strength; it is recommended to choose gypsum board thicker than 12mm.
♦ Water-Resistant Paper-Faced Gypsum Board: The core and facing paper are treated with waterproofing, suitable for applications with a continuous relative humidity not exceeding 95%, such as bathrooms and shower rooms. Surface water absorption should not exceed 160 grams, and the water absorption rate should not exceed 10%.
♦ Fire-Resistant Paper-Faced Gypsum Board: The core contains added fire-resistant materials and a large amount of glass fiber; the glass fiber is visible at the cross-section when the gypsum board is cut. High-quality fire-resistant paper-faced gypsum board uses alkali-free glass fiber with good fire resistance; general products use medium-alkali or high-alkali glass fiber.
♦ Moisture-resistant paper-faced gypsum board: Offers high surface moisture resistance, with a surface water absorption rate of less than 160g/㎡, suitable for ceilings, partitions, and wall cladding in rooms with high humidity.
