1. Observe the Appearance
Check Product Markings: Legitimate gypsum board should have clear product markings, including brand, specifications, production date, and applicable standards.
Check Certification Marks: Confirm the presence of relevant quality certification marks, such as ISO quality system certification and environmental certification.
Check Surface Flatness: Each sheet of gypsum board should be flat, with clear logos and positioning lines, neatly cut edges, no chipped edges, missing corners, or burrs, and accurate dimensions.
Observe the Core Color: After cutting, the whiter the core color, the higher the purity of the gypsum. Check the amount and density of reinforcement, and whether the foaming is uniform and dense.
2. Listen to the Sound
Tap the gypsum board. High-quality gypsum board produces a crisp, resonant sound, like porcelain striking.
Inferior gypsum board produces a dull sound, or even a hollow feel, which may indicate voids, cracks, or uneven quality.
3. Test Strength
Bending Test: Try bending the gypsum board. High-quality gypsum board has a certain degree of flexibility and is not easily broken. Press Test: Press the surface of the gypsum board with your hand. A good gypsum board can withstand a certain amount of pressure without denting.
4. Verify Authenticity
Most importantly, scan the code to verify that it is an authentic product. Ensure that you are purchasing gypsum board products from legitimate channels.
